English Rosé Tasting Highlight Wines

We are tasting 6 wines from Cornwall to Essex.  These wines aren’t in the supermarket, and you won’t find this range at most local independent wine stores. So this is a great opportunity to explore some of the most exciting winemaking in the UK. And even better, you can do it all in one place!

  • Be amongst the first to try Louis Pommery’s newly launched Brut Rosé. It’s one of the first English Sparkling Wines to be made by a Champagne house from grapes grown in the UK.
  • Taste Oxney Organic Rosé from the Rother Valley in Sussex –  one of the few organic vineyards in the UK.
  • Discover New Hall Rosé from the Crouch Valley in Essex, – one of England’s best regions for still wine.

So, what are you waiting for? Try 6 great English Rosés, and enjoy tasty platters of English cheeses and charcuterie.

Bring a mate, or a date, or just come by yourself. At Marasby 5 star rated wine tastings, there’s a friendly group of English wine lovers all helping to grow the 1%.

What Is Great British Rosé Week?

Great British Rosé Week returns for its 4th year May 6th-12th 2024.  This annual week long celebration promotes the excellence of English vineyards and wine producers.

English Rosé sales are steadily rising. This is partly fueled by a growing interest in locally produced wines and a desire for lighter fresher styles. Accordingly more and more winemakers are adding English Rosé to their portfolio.

Our English Rosé Tasting takes you on a tasting road trip across 6 counties and is one of the highlights of the week. It’s GBRW founders Archie and Allie’s first hosted tasting and a great opportunity to meet the women behind the movement.

Forget The South Of France …. Here Comes The South Of England

Provence in the South of France put Rosé on the map. Pale in colour with delicate berry and grapefruit flavours and a crisp minerality it’s the benchmark of drinking pink.

The French make Provence Rosé from Grenache grapes, but in England, it’s not hot enough to grow these grapes. As such, English Rosé comes from Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and/or a blend of other varieties like Seyval Blanc. Although crisp and pale in colour, English Rosés, especially those from the Pinots tend to have a lush mouth feel with notes of cherry, strawberry and rhubarb.

We believe England is the most exciting cool climate region in the world. Yet 99% of the wine we drink is imported.  Discover English Rosé and help grow the 1%.

See you at the tasting on 8th May?
